Melanie has always been drawn to enabling individuals to reach their goals, no matter their abilities and situation (yes, that includes you!). Her teaching method draws from a range of knowledge and experience: over 10 years of dance involvement, being an occupational therapist (MScOT), and over 15 years of general teaching experience.
She started dancing with the University of Alberta Dance Club in 2006, inspired by a childhood of watching her mother ballroom dance the night away. After couple years later, Melanie became a teaching assistant and then an instructor. While teaching with the club for over 6 years, she earned a title of “Most Congenial Teaching Assistant” and was part of the UADC Formation Team. She has also taught and organized classes/workshops/camps with many groups, including University of Alberta organizations, the University Health Centre, and various faculty committees.
Melanie is proud to be a part of the Elite team and is a strong believer in lifelong learning. She is passionate about spreading the joy of dance and would love to share this with you in class or at the studio(s). See you on the dance floor!
