Finding the perfect dance class can be tough. You need to be comfortable in the school, and not feel intimidated by your classmates, especially if you are a beginner. If you feel uncomfortable in your classes, then you will not enjoy them at all – which is a shame, since dance classes can be quite fun, not the mention good exercise. Here are three ways to find the perfect dance class for your needs:
Look Around at the Schools Near You
Although you may not mind having to drive a long distance to take a dance class, especially if you do not want to run into anyone that you know for whatever reason, it makes more sense to find a school near to where you live or work. This way you will have fewer excuses for not going to your lessons, not to mention be able to take them at different times of the day, since you will be nearby.
Ask For Recommendations
Ask people that you know who have taken dance lessons for their recommendations. You might have a friend or an acquaintance who has attended several different schools who can steer you in the right direction. You also need to keep in mind that the people whose opinions you are asking for might be at a different dance level than you, so their experiences might be different than yours.
Check Out Online/Offline Reviews
Even once you have different word of mouth recommendations; it is still a good idea to check out online reviews of the school and its classes. You might stumble across some information that will steer you towards one school over another. You should also check out offline reviews, like those found in newspapers, if you can find any. These are usually unbiased, which will help you a lot.
